Congratulation to Mateo for his successful ERC Starting Grant: BodyCrave

Mateo joined ADAPT as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellow two years ago and has now been awarded an ERC Starting Grant for his project BodyCrave. The project will investigate how bodily sensations contribute to tobacco and alcohol craving, combining cutting-edge interoceptive and physiological measures with pharmacological approaches in controlled laboratory studies. In parallel, the team will examine the role

of bodily processes in craving among clinical populations and apply symptom-network methods to inform a novel therapeutic intervention. This intervention, which targets craving-related bodily sensations, will be tested in a randomized controlled trial.
